Thiruvananthapuram STP triples exportsThe exports from the Thiruvananthapuram software park have more than tripled in 1997-98, rising from Rs 80 million the previous year to Rs 253.1 million. Of the 24 units in the complex, Network Systems and Technologies Limited earned almost the same amount as the whole software park did last year, leading with a export worth of Rs 70.4 million, followed by IBS with 40.5 million and Dataware with 18.8 million.
More companies are set to begin operations from the park, among them Gemini Software Solutions, Geosoft Technologies Limited, Fischer Systems India Limited, Health Care Media Enterprises Inc, Geolik Software, Century Computer Software and Brother Systems. Some Indian firms heading for this southernmost of Indian software parks are Wipro, Pentafour and Datamatics. -Compiled from the Indian media |
