PCS Group to offer Internet ready machines

''We will be pushing channel sales throughout the country for Internet ready machines with our dealership network. Entering into the global scene, especially in the Middle East, is also one of the options and we are seriously looking into various modalities'', All India Marketing Manager Yash Bharatwaj has said.

The PCS Group, which has separate hardware and software divisions, has recorded a turnover of around Rs 4 billion last year and is growing at the rate of 40 to 50 per cent annually, also plans to push channel sales for stand-alone machines in the home segment.

PCS also offers the 'Orion' personal computers in India. The company, which is about to receive ISO certification, has a superb proven track record and was instrumental in supplying and maintaining the hardware during the PSLV-5 launch. Indian Space Research Organisation is one of the prestigious clients of the PCS Group.

Bharatwaj said that PCS is also looking for associations with Internet service providers. The company has already done an ISP implementation at Ahmedabad and it intends to work with ISPs in a very big way.

Turnkey projects are another big area for the group and it has executed networking jobs on turnkey basis.

In the past, he said, the company has supplied computers to defence establishments and ordnance factories. ''With the defence establishment using our machines and network support we have a track record of quality,'' he said.

The company has a manufacturing facility with the capacity of 25,000 PCs a year. The facility has been recommended for ISO 9002 quality certification and the official certificate is expected within two to three weeks. The computers from this facility have been provided at the Stock Holding Corporation of India, New India Assurance and Oil and Natural Gas Corporation.
