Wipro Net announces corporate Internet servicesWipro Net Limited has launched its first corporate class Internet services.A company statement claimed the services would address key requirements of corporations and deploy their core applications on the Internet.
Initially, these services would be offered in 8 cities and extended to another 20 in the next 15 months to cover over 150 clients by the end of March. CEO Anand Talwai told reporters that the new services are specifically tailored to meet corporate requirements of security, reliability, cost effectiveness and ease of use. Wipro Net would be offering a host of value added services like secure mail, plug-n-play, managed virtual private networks, managed Web hosting services and the virtual education networks over the next three months. He said in addition to these it would also offer end-to-end Internet based business solutions including content creation and Web applications to corporate customers. Wipro Net would be the first company in the country in the Internet services market to offer documented service levels, he claimed. He said over 100 multi-location corporations already use the Wipro intranet / extranet services. Efforts are on to tag on these companies to the new services of Internet. Wipro Limited Vice-Chairman Arun Thiagarajan has said Wipro Net is well placed to achieve its goal of market leadership in the growing corporate Internet services market.
