Aptech listed on the NSEThe shares of Aptech Limited, the global information technology training company, got listed on the National Stock Exchange last week.In February the company's shares were listed on the country's premier Bombay Stock Exchange. A release said the Aptech's equity base is Rs 55.8 million. The income for 1996 has risen to Rs 1.63 billion and net profit after tax to Rs 170.1 million, giving an earnings per share of Rs 30. The company declared an enhanced dividend of 30 per cent for 1996. The Aptech brand is offered from over 640 centres within the country and in seven countries including Malaysia, Kenya, Nepal, UAE, Qatar, Oman and Bahrain. For 2000, Aptech aims at being a worldwide information technology education megacorp, with operations in over 20 countries and a student base of over one million. The company has positioned itself as a provider of career courses in information technology through the Aptech Computer Education brand and has also started specialised brands in niche technology areas - 'Asset' for software exports; 'Arena', the multimedia training division of Aptech; 'Hardcore', the Internetworking division; the 'Centre for Business Transformation and its associate brand 'Aptex' for professional training, the release added.
