Scotland revival continues

Scotland beat Papua New Guinea by seven wickets at the M A Aziz Stadium to claim the second semi-final spot from the Plate Championship Group 1 of the Under-19 World Cup on Thursday.
Scotland's recovery from four heavy defeats in their opening matches of the tournament was completed with a second consecutive victory that secures them the semi-final berth.
After PNG won the toss and elected to bat, Scotland needed only four bowlers to wrap up the innings for 114 in 32.2 overs.
Gordon Goudie, Moneeb Iqbal and Kyle Coetzer all collected two wickets while Ross Lyons took 3 for 33.
Buoyed by a strong batting display in their last match against Nepal, Scotland made light work of their target.
Openers Ian Young and Iqbal gave the side a solid start with 30 runs apiece and the match was over in the 26th over with only three wickets down.
Scotland coach Willie Morton was delighted with the resolve his side showed to bounce back from their earlier defeats.
"Our boys have done well to keep their heads up," said Morton.
"They played very well today and looked confident. We are very happy to be in the semi-finals."
The PNG captain Chris Amini was disappointed to be leaving Bangladesh without a win.
"We wanted to win at least one game but defeat today means we have failed," said Amini.
"This is the first time we have experienced these conditions or played in such a big tournament but the experience will serve us well."
Scotland will play the loser of tomorrow's match between Ireland and Bangladesh in the second Plate Championship semi-final on Monday, March 1.
