Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar is angry with the frequent postponments to the election to the post of president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India.

The meeting to elect the next president was to begin at 10am and the result were supposed to be out by 12pm.

But it was adjourned to 2pm after the Madras high court stayed the nomination of Justice S Mohan, a former judge of the Supreme Court, to conduct the election to the post of BCCI president.

The meeting has now been adjourned till 4 pm because Dalmiya has left the conference room after receiving intimation of the Madras high court order.

"Jagmohan Dalmiya is deliberately causing these postponments because he is afraid his nominee Ranbir Singh Mahendra may lose," Pawar said.

Pawar, who was scheduled to leave Kolkata on Wednesday night, has decided to stay on till tomorrow after reports that the elections might be adjourned till tomorrow.

"If Dalmiya has so much confidence in Mahendra, why doesn't he let the elections happen today.

"I am very confident that if the elections happen, I will win without any opposition, which Dalmiya does not want. Hence, he is creating all these adjourments," added a frustrated Pawar.
