Ranbir Singh Mahendra, president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), would consult his colleagues and senior government officials of the ministry of external affairs to take a decision on the request by the President of Pakistan Pervez Musharraf [Images] to watch the cricket matches between India and Pakistan.

Speaking to rediff.com one of the top officials of BCCI told that the Board would play host to the General in case the invitation is extended to him.

"We have taken note of his request and we know that he is very serious about seeing cricket matches between India and Pakistan. If the invitation is extended to him it would be for the whole series and not just for one particular venue. It would be left to him to decide where he wants to come," the official said.

Protocol and other matters would be taken care off by the government once the General confirms his visit.

Senior officials of the external affairs ministry could not be contacted for their reaction.
