Sehwag completes 3000 Test runs

Virender Sehwag [Images] on day three of the third and final Test completed his 3,000 runs in Test cricket and in doing so, he became the quickest Indian in terms of least number of innings taken to accomplish this feat.

Sehwag took 55 innings (and 34 Tests) to reach this landmark, overhauling Mohammad Azharuddin's previous Indian record. Azhar needed 64 innings (and 43 Tests) to complete his 3,000 Test runs.
Sunil Gavaskar [Images], likewise Sehwag, took 34 Tests but 66 innings to do so.
In all Tests, only Don Bradman (33), Everton Weekes (51), Brian Lara [Images] (52), Herbert Sutcliffe (52), Neil Harvey (54) and Viv Richards [Images] (54) have completed 3,000 runs in lesser innings, while Gary Sobers also took same number of innings as Sehwag.
