Reliance WLL subscriber base at 1.27 million

Mirroring the trend in cellular services growth, the subscriber base of WLL (Mobile) services has crossed 26 lakh (2.6 million) with Reliance Infocomm leading the tally with 12.78 lakh (1.27 million) customers at the end of May this year.
Reliance was followed by Tata Teleservices with total subscriber base of 671,000. Tatas, which are offering fixed wireline, fixed WLL and mobile WLL services, is to launch WLL mobile services in Maharashtra soon.
Reliance's entire subscriber base consists of WLL mobile customers in 15 states with Maharashtra having the highest number of consumers at 325,000 followed by Delhi with 227,000, according to the latest figures released by the Association of Basic Telecom Operators.
Sunil Mittal owned Bharti Group, which offers only wireline and fixed WLL services has secured a customer base of over 400,000 in Delhi, Haryana, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.
HFCL and Shyam Telelink has 109,000 and 84,613 subscribers respectively.
