TCS judged best software exporter

IT major Tata Consultancy Services on Friday bagged the Best Software Exporter National award for 2001-02 while Infosys received the second best award.
Wipro bagged the third best software exporter award for 2001-02 with exports worth Rs 1720.87 crore (Rs 17.21 billion). TCS had export revenue of Rs 2657.41 crore (Rs 26.57 billion) in 2001-02 while Infosys recorded software and services exports to the tune of Rs 2450.35 crore (Rs 24.5 billion).
The awards, instituted by the Software Technology Park of India and the ministry of communications and information technology, were given away by President A P J Abdul Kalam in New Delhi.
For the year 2000-01, Bangalore-based Infosys Technologies received the Best Software Exporter National award with export revenue of Rs 1773.32 crore (Rs 17.73 billion) while Wipro Ltd bagged the second best exporter award with Rs 1698.61 crore (Rs 16.99 billion) worth of software exports.
TCS bagged the third best exporter award with Rs 864.66 crore (Rs 8.65 billion) worth of software and services export revenue for 2000-01.
In the SME category, Mumbai based e-Serve International Ltd received the best software exporter SME Growth Rate award with a growth rate of 268 per cent, followed by Hyderabad based HSBC Electronic Data Processing India with a growth rate of 261 per cent for the year 2001-02.
Hyderabad based Deloitte Consulting India Pvt received the third best Software Exporter SME Growth Rate award with 182 per cent growth in 2001-02.
