Ranbaxy unit, Alltech in marketing pact
September 02, 2003 15:59 IST
Ranbaxy Laboratories on Tuesday said its animal health division has entered into a marketing tie-up with the United States-based Alltech Biotechnology for YeaSacc1026 Bolus, an animal feed additive.
Both the companies have plans for introducing more products in a phased manner, a Ranbaxy statement said in New Delhi.
Ranbaxy expects potential demand from products such as YeaSacc, which will improve the productivity of Indian dairy animals.
"The product has a great fit for the Indian market. YeaSacc has demonstrated excellent results in numerous local and overseas trials and the Indian market with its high roughage inclusion in the diet is ideally suited to benefit from the product," Chris King, general manager, Alltech, India, was quoted as saying.
Kentucky-based Alltech is a global leader in animal feed additive with an annual turnover of $200 million and presence in 74 countries.
"The alliance will leverage and integrate the competencies of Ranbaxy and Alltech, and we expect to gain a leadership position in the market relatively quickly," Sanjay Chibber, business head, animal health division, Ranbaxy, was quoted as saying.
