Veerappan kidnaps Dr Rajakumar
Kannada superstar Dr Rajakumar and three members of his family have been kidnapped by sandalwood smuggler Veerappan.
The incident occurred at 2115 hours on Sunday at Gajanur village on the Mysore-Tamil Nadu border.
Dr A S Govindraj, Nagesh and Nagaraju are the others kidnapped by Veerappan. Dr Rajakumar recently built a home at Gajanur.
According to Karnataka Director General of Police C Dinakar, Veerappan has sent an audio cassette to Chief Minister S M Krishna containing a set of demands.
Krishna is on his way to Tamil Nadu to confer with his counterpart M Karunanidhi.
Both Rajakumar and Veerappan incidentally hail from the same taluk -- Kollegal -- in Mysore district.
