Nine kids die in AP van mishap

Eight students, aged between 5 and 8 years, and the driver were killed and 14 injured when a school van fell into a roadside well at Havaldarpalli in Andhra Pradesh's Karimnagar district on Tuesday.

Earlier, the police had put the toll at 15.

The students were from the Matha Model School, Transport Minister Damodar Reddy, who visited the accident site, said.

The injured students and school supervisor Vijayender Reddy were admitted to hospital.

All the nine bodies had been retrieved from the well.

They were identified as Vemula Mallesham, Vemula Manoj Kumar, Vemula Rakesh, Modugula Anoop Reddy, Jillela Rajesh, Vemula Swapna, Alkapalli Rakesh, J Sampath and driver Chhotu.
