US Deputy Defence Secretary Paul Wolfowitz on Thursday got a taste of the mood among a section of the population when he paid a visit to Georgetown University in Washington, DC.
The man widely identified as a staunch supporter of the war against Iraq was scheduled to address students.
Wolfowitz had to control his emotions as he heard criticism of the Bush Administration. 'We hate your policies', 'Killing innocents is not the solution', students shouted.
His defence of the invasion of the oil-rich country did not cut much ice with the students who made it clear that they did not agree with the government's policy on Iraq.
Incidentally, Wolfowitz had a narrow escape on October 26 when rockets rained on the Rashid Hotel in Baghdad in which he was staying during a visit to Iraq.
In another development, Fox News aired a tape showing people being tortured and executed allegedly during the regime of ousted president Saddam Hussein. The US television network claimed American soldiers had found the tape in Iraq.
