The Special Court trying the Ayodhya demolition case against Deputy Prime Minister Lal Kishenchand Advani, Union Minister Murli Manohar Joshi and some others on Wednesday reserved its orders on the framing of charges against them till September 12 next.

Before reserving his orders, Special Judge V K Singh, before whom the matter came up today, said that written arguments have been filed and some rulings have been cited and the court needed some more time to go into them.

Besides Advani and Joshi, BJP leaders Uma Bharati, Vinay Katiyar and VHP leaders Ashok Singhal and Giriraj Kishore and Sadhvi Rithambara are among the other accused in the case relating to the demolition of Babri Mosque on December 6, 1992.

Singh observed that it was not possible to deliver the judgment today as the file was thick and the counter-affidavit of the CBI was filed in the court only on August 26.

He said the CBI had cited some judgments in its counter affidavit and he needed more time to study them.

Both the defence and the CBI counsels readily agreed with his ruling. Later, talking to the newsmen, they said court needed more time.

The CBI counsel told reporters that there was a 'strong' case against the accused.
