The Supreme Court on Monday adjourned by two weeks an appeal filed by Tamil Nadu government challenging the Madras high court order granting bail to Kanchi Sankaracharya in the Radhakrishna assault case.

The state sought the adjournment on the ground that it needs to file additional documents in the ongoing probe against
the seer in the 2002 case.

The matter was heard by a Division Bench headed by Chief Justice R C Lahoti.
