Amidst reports that the Third Front is taking a line akin to the Left parties on the India-United States nuclear agreement, top Samajwadi leaders on Thursday met Communist Party of India-Marxist General Secretary Prakash Karat in New Delhi.

Former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mulayam Singh Yadav, along with Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh, had a fifteen minute meeting with Karat at the CPI-M headquarters on Thursday morning.

On Tuesday, Karat, CPI-M leader Sitaram Yechury and other leaders of the Left Front had a meeting with United National Progressive Alliance convenor and Telugu Desam Party chief Chandrababu Naidu [Images] on the contentious issue of the Indo-US nuclear deal.

Yadav, who is a member of the UNPA, is also expected to meet Communist Party of India leader A B Bardhan and D Raja.
