Prime Minister Manmohan Singh [Images] on Monday held talks with his Chinese counterpart Wen Jiabao during which a whole gamut of regional and bilateral issues, including the boundary problem, are believed to have been taken up.

The prime minister's top aides were present at the 'restricted meeting' with Wen, which will be followed by delegation-level talks.

Earlier, Dr Singh, who is on his maiden three-day visit to the country, was given a ceremonial welcome at the Great Hall of People. The prime minister along with his host, Wen, inspected a guard of honour presented by the People's Liberation Army.

A joint statement will be issued after the talks.
