With the ruling alliance gearing up to muster numbers for the July 22 trust vote, Congress president Sonia Gandhi [Images] on Tuesday evening held deep deliberations with senior leaders including union ministers.

Leader of the Lok Sabha Pranab Mukherjee, Home Minister Shivraj Patil, Minister of State in the Prime Minister's Office Prithviraj Chavan and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Vayalar Ravi attended the meeting.

Government managers are burning midnight oil to garner support at a time when small parties are keeping the ruling alliance on tenterhooks.

Ravi claimed that the government has the support of '280 plus' members and would comfortably sail through the confidence vote.

Gandhi will be meeting the party MPs on Saturday in groups and the leadership is also expected to interact with them on Sunday, a day before the trust vote.

Party MPs have been asked to reach New Delhi by Saturday.
