You Tube, blogs, mass e-mails, SMS and MMS have become friendly tools of the Tibetans in this time of crisis.

In the streets of Mcleodganj on a daily basis, public announcements are being made giving verified and unverified details of the "uprising in Lhasa" after March 10.

The attack on the gate of Bank of China is a hit video footage in Dharamshala among Tibetan refugees. Some monks have also sent the footage of the Chinese police's quelling of the protestors in Lhasa.

The office of the Students For Free Tibet in Exile House in Mcleodganj is buzzing with activity. There is desperation among the people to get information from Lhasa and disperse it through this office all over the world.

Gu-Chv-Sum is the association of former political prisoners of Tibet. The National Democractic party for Tibet is also active in garnering support for the protestors in Lhasa.

The NGOs of Tibet want to make China feel huge embarrassment as word is spreading over how China "opresses" Tibetans in the Tibet Autonomous Region.

Tenzin has a relative in Lhasa who runs a school and she is trying to contact them while talking to the media. Most Tibetans in India have some relatives, friends or connection with a monastery in Tibet and in spite of the long separation, they have maintained contact.

Rather, in recent times with the fast-paced development of Lhasa, communication has been livelier than ever.

There are scores of Tibetan families who spend six months in Lhasa and six months in India. The Tibetans who were given refuge in Kangra Valley in April 1959 by the Nehru government have prospered while away from home, but their ties to their motherland is intact and growing due to the latest communication technology and the religion that binds all of them together.
