IFA ban on Bhowmick

January 29, 2004 20:54 IST

The Indian Football Association (IFA) on Thursday slapped a two-year ban on East Bengal coach Subhas Bhowmick for his repeated derogatory comments against the parent body.

The IFA would also not recognise Bhowmick as part of any team during the period from May 16 this year to May 15, 2006, IFA Secretary Subrata Dutta told newspersons at Kolkata.

Bhowmick would also be barred from entering inside fencing, technical area and substitutes bench during any tournament organised by the IFA in the banned period, Dutta said.
