The promoters' stake in Zee Telefilms Ltd has fallen marginally below the majority 51 per cent mark, while foreign shareholding in the company has risen to 58 per cent during the quarter ending June 30.
Zee Telefilms, which owns Zee News, had agreed to reduce total foreign stake to below 26 per cent in order to comply with the uplinking guidelines issued by government earlier this year.
When contacted, a company spokesperson said: "We are currently evaluating all options available to us and would restructure the holding within the stipulated time line."
The government had allowed Zee one year to bring down its foreign stake to below 26 per cent.
According to data available with the Bombay Stock Exchange, during the quarter under review, the stake of Mauritius-based Corporate Body Delgrada has fallen by about 2 per cent to touch 26.98 per cent even as the overall promoters' stake in Zee Telefilms has fallen to 50.49 per cent.
While the stake of Indian public stayed constant at about 9.35 per cent during April-June this year, foreign institutional investors upped their exposure to 29.43 per cent from 26.63 per cent in the previous quarter.
